2026 KAT Schedule

Thursday, March 26th

10:00 – 12:00 PM Initial set up for convention. All board members and volunteers are asked to be there to help set up.

2:00 – 7:00 PM Registration open/show pieces will be placed by the competitors until 6PM, then by committee after 6PM. Mounts must be photographed before being placed in the competition room. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Vendor area available for setup

3:00 – 5:00 PM Seminar 1- William Creswell-Mounting a Duck

5:00 – 7:00 PM  Seminar 2-Cory Foth-Skin and Mount a Fish

7:00 PM Judging allowed to begin, and showroom will be closed!

7:00 – 9:00 PM Seminar 3- Lance Van Dusen-Mounting an African Shoulder Mount

Friday, March 27th 

8:00 – 12:00 PM Registration open/show pieces will be placed by the showroom committee. 

8:00 – 10:00 AM Seminar 4-Josh Kelly-A-Z on Fish Competition Mounts

9:00 AM Vendor Room opens

10:00 – 12:00 PM Seminar 5-Tonya Lamb-Clay Work

Seminar 6 (Consulate Room)-Caleb Roseburrough-Mounting a Turkey 

12:00 PM Registration Closes, if running late, call Brad Anderson @ 785-479-7508 

Silent Auction begins in Hallway

12:30 – 2:30 PM Seminar 7-Todd Kranau-Mounting a Pronghorn Shoulder Mount

2:30 – 5:30 PM Seminar 8-Gary Weir-Mounting the Kansas King on Gene Smith Form (Will be auctioned off)

5:30 PM Pizza in the Hospitality Room at the Control Tower on Floor 5 

6:00 – 10:00 PM Seminar 9 (Consulate Room)-Kansas Scramble, live mounting competition. Cash Bar available. 

Saturday March 29th

8:00 – 9:00 AM Registration open for day pass (Membership Required)-no mounts accepted

8:00 – 4:00 PM Vendor Room Open

8:00 – 9:00 AM Seminar 10-Pat Reed-Turning and Salting Whitetail

9:00 AM Judging Ends

9:00 – 11:00 AM Seminar 11-Sam Cahoy-Mounting a Chukkar

Seminar 12(Consulate Room) (Kids)-Clay Work with Tonya Lamb

11:00 – 1:00 PM People’s Choice Voting and open to the public

12:00 PM Silent Auction Ends

12:30 – 2:30 PM  Seminar 13-Josh Austin-Mounting a Rattlesnake

2:30 – 4:30 PM Seminar 14-Ashley Barrett-Mammal Expressions  

5:00 – 6:00 PM Happy Hour 

6:00 – 9:00 PM Dinner/Awards- Winners please get your picture taken before you turn in for the night. 

9:00 – 11:00 PM Judge Critiques

Sunday March 30th

9:00 AM Business Meeting with the mounts being released at the conclusion of meeting.
